A wan sunlight
lossnaturecitymusicpoliticsmortality
A wan sunlight
Laps weakly
At the window
Strangely resistant to mourning
The loss of its power
To surprise,
Thrumming its fingers
Against the backdrop
Of a rainstorm
Revealing a tendency
To break through
Even at its lowest ebb
Optimism continues
To send it
Reaching into corners
With the audacity
Of a solar flair,
Looking to find strength
In an abundance of shadow
Building up
To full radiance
Eclipsing
All challenges
Quietly reassuring
In its persistence
To pick holes
In absolute darkness
Brightening the day
With a touch of
Gratitude.
