A slip of a thing

naturemusicmemorytimeloveidentity

A slip of a thing

A shimmer

At twilight

Where Nightjars sing

A tumble in afterthought

As the sun sets

Waiting for a moment

Of awakening

When a smoulder of red light

Cracks a dusty sky

And the chase is on

To catch the meaning

Of a first kiss

Momentary bliss

Breathless in paradise

The song remains

Unfinished

Even the birds

Become hushed

Awaiting a response

To the first flush

Of summer

Where wild orchids grow

Pastel colours

Perfect in backdrop

Sway in collusion

It is no illusion

Or seasonal change

But a shiver

The earth repositioned

Truth requisitioned

A new world order

A different poetry

Strung together

Silently unspoken

For the first time

I remember

The day

The world stood still

For the longest time

Eternity was more

Than just a word

It was a beginning.
