After more than enough to drink in a Thames side pub
After more than enough to drink in a Thames side pub
I bathed in nature
As pagans stood
On ley lines
Worshipping the freedom
Of the wind
Waiting for the earth
To speak
Of its disappointment
At the thoughtlessness
Of children
Who believe themselves wise
Running out of patience
With the blindness
Of progress
In venal pursuit
When honest wealth
Must truly lie in the beauty
Of kinship
Not resident
In the brutal threat
Of power
But the persistent
Pounding of the sea
The fragile strength
Of a wildflower
Dreamfields covered
In clover
Wind blown seed pods
Dancing in sunlight
Is there madness
In caring about landslide
Erosion is not value free
Slip into the water
Bathe in forgetfulness
Rinse me clean
Perhaps there is magic
In the air
Of Glastonbury
The whisper of Merlin
In the morning
As a wet mist lies
Deep in the valley
Spread wide your arms
Breathe me in
We will become more
Than merely human
In the merging
