Re-making a bed
Un-slept
Washing clothes
Unworn
Folding and sorting
Household tasks
Life skills
Learned at the knee
Without notice
Maintaining order
Sleepwalking
Through the mundane
Obligations fulfilled
Without thought
Nor favour
Steeped into the soul
Everyday actions
Filling the space
Between one day
And the next
As time,
Slip-slides
Away
Remorselessly.
