Colour me

naturepoliticsmemoryidentity

Colour me

I am indistinct

Ill-defined against the grey

Bring the world to life

With the warmth

Of your breath

The air is vibrant

With the possibility

Of such vitality

The promise of energy

Variegation

Is such a rarity

In nature

Nurture the beauty

That you may have seen

In me

Birthed in change

Hidden in shadow

As iridescent butterflies

Coalesce

Emergent colours

Metamorphosize

From silhouette

Into rainbow

There will be

Recognition

Of the beauty

Floating at the edges

Of reality

Waiting to burst

In vital universality

A moment

Of illumination

When every colour

That can be conceived

Will complement

The meaning

Of revelation

Disclosed

In the transient

Imperfections

Of a verdant

Soulful

Landscape

Rolling to the horizon

Happy to be free
