Do you hear me

naturecitymusicidentitysolitude

Do you hear me

Even though

I have never said a word

I speak to you

On the inside

In a voice so loud

It drowns out all distortion

Rattling through the wires

Connecting all the doubts

To the outside

With heavy metal

To keep my feet

Rooted in good earth

I give the truth

A wide berth

As the reality

Of spiritual isolation

Is a cause of ritualistic

Devastation

Left in peace

I am a songbird

With nothing new to sing

Repeating all the notes

In a different order

Is it a wonder

Nothing has been said

I have never heard before

When the voice inside

My head

Is not the same

As the voice I want to hear

How strange it is

I feel you so near

When I can’t see you

Do you see me

Stumbling in the darkness

Looking for the light

Though I am blind

I know the way

In an emergency

You are my eyes

When will you

See me.
