Do you sway
naturepoliticstimelovemortality
Do you sway
Beneath the stars
Under the moonlight
The rumble of thunder
A herald of hard times
Do you sway
When the sky breaks
The windows rattle
Wolves howl
Wet snouts
Lifted high in the air
Flies buzzing
Around their heads.
Fast rivers
Slowing to a crawl
Muddy and forlorn.
The grass grows brown
Stubble on the chin
Of a giant.
Birds fly in circles,
Wonders of nature
Plummet to the ground.
Mountains march
Ever onward
Growing more menacing
As the light fades
Angels fall
In a tumble of white feathers,
Broken promises
Turned to stone
In a graveyard.
The earth shakes
The heart breaks
Do you stay
Will you sway
How long
Will it take
How long
How long
How long?
