Even in absence

naturemusicpoliticstimeidentitydrumming

Even in absence

The fact of you

Is overwhelming.

As a presence

You shape my life.

Thoughts are weighed

In your favour,

Ideas become you.

It is your voice

I carry,

As reassurance

In time of need.

The warmth

Derived from knowing

You live and breathe

Your own distinctive

Thoughts,

And that they

May at times,

Be tangled

Up with mine,

Spreads throughout

My being.

It nourishes my soul,

Massaging my weakness,

Feeding my belief

And strengthening my resolve.

Presence, in absentia

Eases the burden,

And oils the wheels

Of my day.

With you as a

Stabilising influence,

A fulcrum,

The world revolves.

A sympathetic ballet,

A movement

Within a symphony,

That plays in part,

As a rhapsody

Of the wider universal,

Whilst my feet remain

Firmly set,

Though lightly balanced.

They will dance

When the mood

Is right,

With you

Held gently,

Within the cradle

Of my arms,

Bathed in starlight

Our twin celestial

Bodies glisten,

As the music plays,

In harmonic majesty

We sway,

Together,

In the presence

Of the moon,

And the rhythm

Of the night.
