For Paris.

lossgriefnaturetimeidentitymortality

For Paris.

I ache for you

Even as the wind blows

The old day away

The dust of your soul

Pricks a tear in my eye.

With so much lost

The breath of life

So easily dispersed,

The spirit is

More than a notion.

We are tied together

In bonds unbreakable,

Even in death.

And though torn

By the fury

Of a hateful storm

The strands of our lives

Are brought together

And in their binding

We will find the strength

To survive

Unto the beginning

Of a better day.
