Heavy are the eyes

musictimelovemortalitydrumming

Heavy are the eyes

So easily closed

What holds them

Is more than curiosity

Does the world go on

Or will it cease to be

When I finally look away

It is more than tiredness

From lack of sleep

There is a weariness

Of spirit

Tearing at the fabric

Holding worlds apart

What drives me on

When the flesh is weaker

Than the beating heart

So easily would all things end

If I were to let go

It is a subatomic miracle

Of unimaginable

Proportion

The hairline

Division between us

Unbridgeable

Although

With a subtle shift

From waking unto sleep

We can engage

In a moment

Of magical connection

A timeless correction

If I do let go

Will I simply drift away.
