September 12, 2025Poem
Home alone.
timesolitude
Home alone.
So wide,
The bed,
It holds
No invitation.
An empty plain,
A desert.
Too quiet,
No breathing.
Strange
Shadows
On the ceiling.
The night,
Stretched out,
Taut,
Elastic,
Waiting to snap.
The air,
Pregnant,
With empty
Pauses.
Black holes
Where you should be.
I speak aloud,
To fill the gaps
With noise.
Wait,
For an answer,
Hoping for laughter.
I wonder
What you might be doing,
Wish it was with me.
Knowing
You are happy,
Is what
Keeps me sane.
Waiting.
For your return,
To make me whole,
Again.
