Home thoughts flicker,
Home thoughts flicker,
Wave and flow,
Streamers of recognition
Bands of meaning,
Disbelieving,
Reasoning and logic.
Stirring music
Vibrant colours
Glowing, pulsing
Gyrating, shimmering
With and without purpose.
Slipping in and out of focus
Blending, bending
Like images on a flatscreen
Viewed through the window
Of a house
On the other side of the street
Unconnected to my reality
But earthbound.
Cognition is not linear
I am unknown
Even to me
Nothing remains stationary
Which is as it should be.
Just one thought
For more than one moment
With no baggage
Left-field activity
Irrationality
Tangential thinking
Divergence,
Creative introspection
Or the unorthodox
Appearance of logic,
Would not be me.
It takes but a second
To clear the head
And realise
The lack of an organised whole
Is what makes us ‘more than’
A thought process.
We are multitude
Without any space for digression
There would be certainty
And an enormity
Of silence
How much fun
Would there be in that?
