What more can I do

naturememorylovemortality

What more can I do

But wait for you

Even as the light fades

In my eyes

The sun sets

With a fire storm

A solar flare

Radiant in cloud burst

Burning through

The end of the day

Turning a circle

Of remembrance

Spinning the last of the light

Into a fine thread

Catching on the breeze

Floating evanescent

Disappearing before my eyes

In that moment

Everything is aglow

In the flickering

You are the flame

There is nothing to do

But wait

Until darkness falls

Perhaps I will see you

A figure

On a distant ridge

Hand raised in greeting

A river lying between us

Flowing fast

Sweeping all away

Until all that remains

Is moonlight

Dancing on water

What more can I do

But remember

To believe

And wait
