How is it done

naturecitypolitics

How is it done

The shrug of a shoulder

Wrong footing

Even the nimblest mover

The sharpest knives

So easily blunted

By a wrap of

Paper

Sleight of hand

Will fool the eagle-eyed

Ready for misdirection

When the magic

Is performed

By a master

Sharks will be sharks

Even in shallows

There may be safety

In numbers

But complacency

Is a disease

Filling hospital beds

With baby boomers

Who grew fat

On the back

Of post-war prosperity

Forgetting

How to rock n roll

With the punches

In the rush

To duck and dive

As only fools

And horses work harder

Than a cheerleader

For social mobility

And reciprocity

Of surveillance,

When the world

Is a panopticon

We are all

Its prisoners.
