January 27, 2024Poem
However clear the light
timeidentitymortality
However clear the light
The night ahead is shrouded.
Darkness draws closer
By the second,
Questions of insight
Delusions of endurance
The accident of bravery.
Imperfect spirits
Dance before my eyes
Never still enough
To identify.
A spritely flame
Against the velvet
Uneasy shadows held
Just beyond the scope
Of my extension.
Much to their chagrin,
Although
Nothing is as certain
As impermanence.
Oft times
Disconnection
Is a troubling companion
Driving a wedge
Between imagery
And solid air.
In truth
To have any chance
Of making progress
Beyond this internal
Meditation,
I may have to give up
Your ghost.
