Open is the heart
naturecitypoliticsmemorytimelove
Open is the heart
To let you in
It is as welcome
As the sweet breath
Of summer
A healing wind
Where wildflowers
Flavour the air
With the bold scent
Of a new day
Golden hay bales
Dry in the sun
Rustic rows
Disappearing into
The distance
The buzz of occupation
The purpose of country life
Farmers with mechanical
Hands
Reaping a reward
Clever, busy Bees
Remember their way home
Distributing pollen
Fairy dust
Honeyed with kisses
Tiny love letters
Carried from one bloom
To another
Never needing answers
Naked lovers
Lying together
On a barrow
Full of history
And old magic
Cloud watching
Fragile is love
Strong is the bond
Tying me
To you
Simplicity
In little need
Of complication
But finding it
Nonetheless
