I dreamed
losspoliticsmemoryloveidentitysolitude
I dreamed
In sweet regard
For the truth of things
Your head upon my shoulder
The fragrance of you
An intoxicating bouquet
A serene moment
Overwhelmed with desire
To share
In the wonder,
Of such sublime clarity
I awoke
To kiss the exposure
Of your neck
Where you lay
In my arms,
Gently draped
Smooth and cool
Softly yielding skin
Beneath my lips
Finely felt
Warm to the touch
A slow pulse
Keeping pace with mine
As in sleep, you laughed
A tumbling throaty giggle
Well remembered
Even now
In the ruthless
Truth of emergence,
From what was
In bitter reality
The finely crafted
Cruel lucidity
Of a dream within a dream,
Into a cheerless world
Where
In blind,
Wholly thankless truth
I am indeed alone
And you
Are more than sadly
Gone.
