With philosophy

It is just a series of

Evolving opinions

Reasoned

Well-argued

Perhaps with a grain of sense

On occasions.

Oft times

It has a foot

In theoretical physics

Well, maybe an inch

Give or take

Either way

The belief that everything

Is an illusion

Wholly subjective

A perception

That needs to be viewed

Through a prism

Where light is spread evenly

Across the spectrum

The same thing can exist

In more than one place

At one

And the same time,

Giving too many people

Just enough rope

To hang themselves.

Making assumptions

About the world

Based on multiple perspectives

Is laudable

Until nobody acknowledges

The existence of truth

In any concrete sense

Other than their own.

Wisdom is a thing to be ignored

Advice an un-asked-for

Token gesture

An abstraction

Better left unsaid

Experts are castigated

As evildoers

Liars and hypocrites.

Even the money-changers

Garner the respect

Of the needy

Rich men squeeze through needles

But an expert

Is a purveyor of untruths.

How did this come to pass?

A world of intolerance

Anger, disinformation

And obfuscation

When the idea was to create

A culture of mutual understanding

Seeing both sides

Of the coin

Using our eyes and ears

To appreciate

Another point of view

Whatever happened to that

As an aspiration

A spiritual evolution?

I’m sure you will have an opinion,

It is the way of things,

I am at a loss to know
