April 26, 2024Poem

I have never seen the sky

naturetimemortality

I have never seen the sky

It was never really there

It didn’t stay still

For long enough

Swirling with activity

Moving around

Changing my perspective

The moon is a chameleon

Showing too many sides

To be recognised

Always a stranger

Never understood.

Drown me in mystery

It is not a balloon

There is no string

It hangs in the air

Like a question mark

Every time a star falls

The ground quakes.

I can feel it in my bones

Sometimes there is a shift

In the atmosphere

And the black hole

Grows wider

It is waiting for me to jump

One day I will.
