I miss her so much.

naturecitymemorytimeidentitysolitude

I miss her so much.

Take heed of this

It is a moment

Never to return

They never do

No matter how many times

They are revisited

A little piece of what you see

Is replaced

A weather faded memory

Drinking coffee

On the waterfront

Watching big ships roll by

Tying up, casting off

Discovery cruises

Carrying a host of

Geriatric dreamers

Trying to see the world

From a sun deck

Honeymooners

Barely seeing daylight

One candlelit dinner away

From heaven

Even as you sit

There is a nod to absence

A quiet wish

This could be shared

An empty hope

A strange sensation

Of subtle subterfuge

No replacement

Ever conferred

On a present tense

Starkly drawn

Smudged in charcoal tears

A brittle truth realised

But for happenstance

You would not be here

To see this

On balance

You might prefer not to be.
