I miss you, Kora.

naturemusicmemorytimelovemortality

I miss you, Kora.

Reflective dysmorphia

You fuss and primp

Believing is never enough

The satisfaction

Never quite reciprocated

As the years slip by

It is never the right time.

Hat stands are not domestic gods

Clothes racks are not a centrepiece

Nothing lasts forever

Sofas

Only as comforting

As the last kiss

There is so much sadness

Between moments

Of pleasure

When the memory of longing

Is all there is to remember.

As the sun sets

The sky is dry-eyed

A glacial hollow

Cracked along the seam

Where the light seeps through

Was it always so far away?

Will it ever be enough

What will it take to cut it short

When would you know

Once out of the box

It does not go back.

The slow fall

Is never as painful as the jolt

When you hit the ground

It takes an age to get to where you want to be

A second to lose it all

Blink.

Steal another look

Remember the beginning

The newness of it

The novelty of humour

The reality of love

The meaning of consequence

It will help you reach

The end.
