I released a white dove
naturemusicmemorylovemortality
I released a white dove
Watched as it flew away
Looking for a stranger
To help build a nest
A place of beginning
At the end of things
Where the sun falls
The sea boils
Red with the heat
Of its departure
Dreams can wait
No longer
Than tomorrow
When the rains end
Green shoots
Are a symbol of recovery
Bring me a single stem
Let it fall
Unto my palm
Bring me the hope
Of new days past
Before the darkness
Closed upon my heart
And stole me away
Across the sea
Press ganged
Into the service of an eternity
Waiting at world’s end
In a maelstrom
Of uncertainty
For permission
To come aboard.
