I thought it was yesterday

lossnaturememorytimemortality

I thought it was yesterday

For the longest time

Until it was today

Then everything flew away

So quickly

Holding on to you

Hands clasped across

Oceans of space

Sweeping back the tide

Of emotions

Obscuring your face

Blurring my eyes

With tears

Lead me from this place

As darkness nears

Lost without you

In the tumbledown

Of doubts and fears,

There is no future

Only now

Is the answer

To an echo

Of where, what, how

To find the way

Inch by inch

Day by day

Through a maze

Of consequence

Brought low

Burned by an inferno

Seven times over

Until it ends

In surrender

Transposed

Into a gloomy haze

Of yesterdays

And lost horizons.
