I will hold you

naturetimelovemortality

I will hold you

In good times

Protect you in bad.

Keep you safe

From all you fear

And rock you

In the cradle of my arms.

Even as the ground

Beneath us

Shifts and slides

Like molten sand,

Pulled this way and that

By the relentless

Tide of life,

Its salt encrusted waves,

Whipped by raging

Winds

That bite and tear

In restless frenzy

And seek to break

This sweet embrace.

Though we may fall,

And lose the promise

Of safe passage

We may have hoped for,

Nothing will persuade me

To let you go.

Even as we are overwhelmed

In the cacophony

Of storms

That accompany

This great flood

Of life

I am redeemed.

In the midst

Of all these struggles

A glimpse of paradise.

Together

We have found where

It begins,

And in this

Maelstrom

It continues to flow,

All the way from here,

To eternity.
