Do you try too hard

naturetimeidentitymortality

Do you try too hard

Not enough

Maybe it is other people

Who influence our assessment

We are but a reflection

In another’s eyes

Turn and turn about

There are no shortcuts

To the beginning

From whence we came

The end can be anywhere

Is it a worry for you

Anxiety an obsession

To foreshorten time

There are other hobbies

To redirect a troubled mind

Salve the conscience

Of an old soul

Saving good intentions

For the countback

When will you know

Balance is restored

Probability

Is not enough

No more than a skyhook

In a Dalian landscape

Perhaps this is as close

As we'll ever be

To reality

When the timepiece melts

The tick-tock stops
