If,

naturemusicpoliticstimeloveidentity

If,

Together we exist

Why does the feeling persist

I have missed something

Why do I care what you say

Even though we disagree

Can we still be friends

Do you like what you see

Are the opinions we hold

The truths we are told

Are yours any better than mine

Because you take

The wafer and wine

Hate is

The ultimate destruction

There is no surer thing

Indifference looks on

Whilst the intolerant sing

Of their absolution

For the sins they perform

In the name of the father

The son of a gun

Love is the reason

We are the reason for love

It should not depend

On a lord up above

We are all children

When it comes to the end

Nobody knows

What lies over the river

Around the next bend

Give your love freely

Please take my hand

If you find an answer

Help me understand

My country means

As much to me

As yours does to you

If God is on your side

What will the rest of us do

We all might be born

With a different face

But the whole human race

Began in one place

And we are the same

All the way through

Which is part of a reason

For me loving you

It may be something

Or nothing at all

We are one family

Surviving a fall

Please, mister postman

Pass it along

In this life

I will love you all

Can you love me

Give it a try

Don’t stand idly by

When you hear me cry

Sing hallelujah

Sing yippee kaya

Hold it together

For Judgement day

Is a misnomer

To feed the innocent

With guilt

Whilst the greedy

Still feed

On the freedoms

Our ancestors built.
