If I could trek across

lossnaturecitytime

If I could trek across

The barren straits

Traverse foothills

Scarred by the wash

Of glaciers long gone

Climb the highest mountain

Stand upon the peak

Raise my hands and touch the sky

Will I see you

If I could sink

Below the ocean

Explore ancient shipwrecks

Be a prisoner of the deep

Never to be freed

From its cold hand

Dive into the deepest canyons

Find the very centre

Of the earth

Will it be there

That I will see you

Have you disappeared

For ever

Do I follow in your wake

Is there a reason

To keep searching

Do you guide

Each step I take
