If you let me drown in a teaspoon
naturememorymortality
If you let me drown in a teaspoon
Or choke on my toast
It would be incongruous
To say the least
But it is possible
One day when I’m helpless
I will need to be released.
Will you be the one I can trust
To make certain
I am untangled
From gadgets new-fangled
Linked to my brain
Designed to maintain
An interest in life extension
When without them
I would truly depend
On all hope to end.
Give me a pill
Then read the will
Between you and me
That is the way it should be.
Too many promises
Are made to be broken
Nothing I say
Was meant to be spoken
Without making good
On the past
And saving
The best lines till last
