It does seem arbitrary
naturetimelove
It does seem arbitrary
Who lives to grow old
Is it chance
A random happening
The product of good genes
Is lifestyle an actual choice
When what we become
Is an alchemist's delight
A philosopher’s stone
Or a piece of lead.
Who determines
When to stir and when to pour
One spoonful
Seems the same as any other
At first glance
But biology is science
Even when things
Are equally divided
Put under the
Microscope
Looked at objectively
The odds are heavily stacked
Against equality
Of opportunity
With no certainty
A compound of nature
A tincture of nurture
Will yield the same result
As a pinch of salt
In a pot
Of organic vegetable
Matter
Will taste good
Or save the planet
Without a ladle full of love
And a slice or two of luck
