It is the small things

naturecitytimelove

It is the small things

Pulling out the wrong brick

Brings the house down

A step out of place

The blink of an eye

The coffee too cold

In the morning

The traffic light changing

Too soon

A call on the phone

When you are driving

A drink after work

Before home

A screw coming loose

From an engine

A bird crashing in

Through the glass

The walls falling down

All around you

When the love of your life

Doesn’t last

The shiver that runs

Through your body

When the line on the test

Turns to blue

Nothing can be

Done in preparation,

For the small things

Just creep up

On you
