It might have been a dream
It might have been a dream
I don’t know
It seemed real enough
That being said
Reality is hard to find
When it is subject
To Orwellian logic
Truth is hard to believe
Lies ring bells.
Perhaps I sleep more soundly
Under the stars
Among the trees
Silent whispers
Incidental music
Passing from branch to branch
An information highway
We can all imagine
Better things
All the President's men
Are skeletons
A chorus line
High kicking
Jive talking
Breaking into song
Leaving a trail of disruption
In their wake
Climbing ladders
To the moon
It is chaos out there
Beyond the atmosphere
Where the chokers
Cling on to life
By their fingernails
Every dream I have
Lies further from reason
Closer to delusion
If it’s not a nightmare
Or a byproduct of
Too much cheese
I have journeyed
Through dimensions
And the existence
Of a brave new world
Has become
A tad
More unwelcome
Than a physicist’s
Wet dream.
