Lie with me
lossgriefnaturepoliticstimelove
Lie with me
Wonder at the ocean
Rolling on
Deeply delved stillness
Cold and dark
Beneath white tipped waves
Hiding so much
An invisible touch
Just out of reach
Light dissolved
In weight of water
Displaced by heavy
High sided ships
Laden with produce
Ploughing a furrow
More easily
Than in bygones
Under sail
At the mercy of the winds
The treacherous sea
Old steam ships foundered
On the rocks
In a heavy swell
What of the behemoth
The megalodon
Of transport
Pounding ever onward
Eating as much
As it gives
Rusting all the same
In the name
Of progress
Lie with me
Watch as they pass
In stately procession
With little romance
In the floating
So far removed
From wind assisted
Boating
Big, fat, pig iron
Oarless ships
What change is this?
