Open your eyes

naturememory

Open your eyes

Brightly green

Sparkling in sunlight

Glowing in the dark at midnight

I watch as you wake

Bloom like a flower

Easy as daybreak

Reaching out, touching the sky

When you shake out

The cobwebs

There is more to you

Than magic,

Will we ever know

Our true worth

When the drudgery

Of living

Makes it all too easy

To forget

How wonderful

Life can be

Were we ever strangers

There is something

In the way we are

Such an easy familiarity

Before

This line I threw away

Became a cliche

Not just today

Or yesterday

But for all eternity.
