Paint me other

naturetimemortality

Paint me other

I am weary of sorry grey

Washed out

Translucent skin

Pine box hands

With dirt brown nails

Atop heat split bones

Arthritic twisters

Paint me green

Slender my hands

Reaching high

Up to the sky

Petals blooming

From every finger

A floral tribute

To the old gods

Billow me in Butterflies

Let them feed

On my bounty

As many stamens

As a Passionflower

Lift me up

Carry me away

To a land of honeybees

And monkey puzzle trees

Paint me another colour

Wash me up

Loose limbed

Olive skinned

As I bleed into

The backwater

Where we can be dispersed

And old words

Can be reversed

Before they are released

Into the universal
