Pull me back

naturepoliticstime

Pull me back

From the edge

With its enticement

Bold inducement

To peer out

Beyond the boundary

Between

Our two worlds

If I fall

Who else will follow

Nobody waits

For explanations

When the wind

Whips the legs out from under.

Even the best of us

Can fail to grasp

The strength needed

To survive

The power of the call

To step out

The unknown is a siren

Best not heard

As a whisper

In the ear

It can become an itch

Too difficult

Not to scratch

Too tempting

To ignore

Pull me back

My locus

Is out of control

It is all too easy

To believe

I am a feather

Drifting on a wild

Untamed wind

Lifting high then low

Whither am I bound

I do not know

I am released

I have let go
