Release me

lossgriefnaturememorytimeidentity

Release me

Take the trouble

To open the box

It holds a host

Of memories

Unattached without

A thread to bind

Them into a seamless

History

Is it possible

For it to be so

When thoughts

Are crammed inside

One on top of another

Sardines are more neatly stowed

Kept as fresh as

The day they were prepared

Pour me out

Watch the tumble begin

With endings more

Recently secreted away

Bouncing around

Fluttering puppy dog eyes

Beginnings are more elusive

Harder to find

Taking longer to retrieve

Unless more frequented

With shortcuts created

Fire doors left open

For ease of recall

Ripple effects

Can muddy the water

Hinder navigation

What would happen

If sequencing

Was disordered

With importance

Differently weighted

So much mislaid

Hiding

In nooks and crannies

Snagged in shadows

Loose ends unravelling

Time may be lost

Caught up

In a maze

Of inconsequentials

I may need your rescue

Much sooner

Than was planned

Take my hand

Pull me out of myself

Two heads

Are better than one locked box

When it comes to

Re-remembering.
