The Wall Between Dreams

naturepoliticsmemoryidentitymortalitysolitude

Sleep is

Never dreamless

But misremembered

An empty space

Without the freedom

To indulge in fantasy

There is but a wall

With no end

Or gate through which

One can gain entry

To the other side

Everything displaced

A person misplaced

What use intention

Without theory

Of mind

Involving soulful insight

Into the invitation

Of darkness

Draped between one dream

And the next

An interpretation

Gainfully employed

A serviceable hypothesis

Conceived to cut a swathe

Through a blot in the sky

A stygian Rorschach

Shadow dance

Masking the relationship

Of somnambulance

To the existence

Of unconscious recollection

With Deja vu

Nothing but

A showreel
