Somebody nail him to a tree

lossnaturemortality

Somebody nail him to a tree

Hang him up

Be a wanted poster

For a lost cat

Or dog

Whatever you choose

To see

There is nothing romantic

About it

Veins bleed out

Regardless of the proximity

Step into space

There is no reprieve

To the finality of execution

We all burn

With indignation

Heads buried in forgetfulness.

Be mindful of the where with all

To alter the course of events

Without celebrity.

Speaking to a camera,

Seeking approval,

Earnestly.

Sad bodies fall

For want of an intervention

Vultures pick over the corpse

Of a life.

Cherry pickers

Write books of revelation

We all fall under the spell

Of an illusion.

Look the other way

Turn the other cheek

Follow my lead

All the way down

To the ground

It is easy.
