Sometimes

lossnaturemusicmemorytimelove

Sometimes

In the light of a candle

The flicker

Of recognition

Before the flame dies

The way smoke curls

In the draught from a window

A shadow dance

To a torch song

As a cinder falls

Onto a hearth rug

The fire caught

In a down draught

Brightening embers

There is harmony

In recognition

Of a moment

The world turns

And you did not go

On a summer day

When the sky is high

The glister

Of reflection on the water

As tall ships

Unfurl their sails

In a light wind

There is recognition

If you had stayed

For more than a day

Or a lifetime

Longer than

Yesterday

When the dream died

Together

We could have sailed away

Sailed away

Sailed away...
