Sometimes a glimpse of sky
Sometimes a glimpse of sky
Breaks through
Between the grey monotony of plain buildings
Concrete monoliths
Built as an ego defence,
Alien monsters
Visible from the moon,
Straddling the globe
Steel-toed boots buried
Into the ground
Girded ribs poking out from under
Soundproof-skin
Silence in protrusion
Another giant structure blooming
High against a backdrop
Of cirrus cloud
And ground fog
Dripping with tears
Frozen into solid air
Falling at my feet
Heavy metal
Rainbows in retreat
Chasing shadows
Always on the move
Or be turned to stone
At the first sign of sunlight
Too many dreamers
Live as trolls,
Troglodytes are human
On the inside
Where the sun is a reflection
Of the old world
When the sky stretched
All the way to the ground
And we were lifted
On the wings of dreamers
Above the clouds.
Life is an odyssey
A quest to build Olympus
As a tourist attraction
