Stop the war

naturecitymusicpoliticstimeidentity

Stop the war

I want to get off

Is there any beauty here

In the shadow of catastrophe

There is always one thing or another

To subvert the narrative

As Peanut Butter is to Marmite

We all become a target

Of hostility

Too easily

Even as we share a liking

For the Champions League

Agree there is too much greed

In football

Drink the same beer as our neighbour

Savour the taste of freedom

In our choice

Of facebook friends

Cross international borders

In the bedroom

Respecting boundaries

In an even handed way

On the keyboard

Who has itchy fingers

Pressing the wrong buttons

Without a public vote

As bombs rain down

Reality tv shows

Instagram and tictoc

Raise a smile

The light from an Iphone

Is a beacon in the darkness

As soul survivors

Search for children in

The rubble

Thank goodness for kindle

The library fell today

But there is inspiration

In an affirmation

We are all mindful

Of our right to anti-vax

Wellness is a movement

Of the bowels

And healthy private parts

Even as the walls fall

Wash your eyes

In ‘No more tears’

Reach out across the water

Step in time

To Kpop goes

Bubblegum

We are all in this

To be disposable

Join hands

Slough still stands.
