The continuity of loss.

lossnaturemusictimelovesolitude

The continuity of loss.

It is in the whispers,

Slipping through the veil,

Screening the heart

From thoughts, lost

In a well of absence.

It waits in the shadow

Of an empty swing.

The cruel silence

In the desperate

Freewheeling burden.

The To and fro

Carried back and forth,

Never at rest.

Lost on a breeze,

As it snorts a mocking

breath,

Raising the heads

Of drooping blooms.

That slough in mute deference

To the heavy drift of

This recurrent, murky stream.

A windswept,

Windless menace,

Clustering in

Motes of lazy dust,

That curl and swirl,

A mindless draft,

That cuts a ghostly trail

Through the progress of passing,

Opening of closing,

Deepening of shallows.

And dwells,

For all eternity,

In the company

Of absence,

The haven of the lost

And the found,

In missing.
