The fiery orb

natureloveidentitymortality

The fiery orb

Rises from the division

Of its own despair

Chained by infinite design

Following the same path

Burning with indignation

A godless captive

Slow to release.

Anger is a dangerous swell

It will spit and rage

Reaching out

To sear its presence

Into your soul

Fear its touch

For it will leave a mark

A festering sore

Testimony to reckless desire

Tear away

Do not gaze

Upon its enduring nature

Lest it scorch

A path across your naked

Unshaded window

However comforting

The softness of its glow

May fall

There is mockery

In the latency of its damage

Too late then

The depth of penetration

Is never peeled away

The layers of regret

Will not be salved

Or soothed by Aloe Vera

Even as the ageless

Malignant demon dips

Its toe into a boiling ocean

It will not be doused

But reignited

Ready to rise

And burn

Another day.
