The hissing of summer rain
naturemusicpoliticstimelove
The hissing of summer rain
It is warm thought
In summer
A cooling touch
Washing the grime away
On a hot day
Dancing in the rain
Splashing like children
Jumping with the delight
Of innocence
Laughing as water trickles
Off the tip of their nose
Picking a way through a puddle
Standing on tippy toes
Kissing raindrops
From wet lips
See how they fall
Become a deluge
Swell into a wall of mud
Tearing at a lifestyle
Stealing the promise
Of a lifetime
Breaking the banks
On a lowland floodplain
A natural response
To a wet dream
Nothing remains
As we would like it
When but for
The change of
A careless wind
The rise of
A relentless tide
The breaking of a
Summer storm
Romance
Is but one step away
From disaster
