The moon dips
naturetimelovemortality
The moon dips
In conversation with the mountain.
A sparkle of words
Glitters between them
A tumbling stream
Growing out of their
Kiss.
A gushing cascade
A tangle of bright water
Gathering pace
As it falls.
The wonder of life
Flooded with meaning
I gasp at the energy
In ice-cold delight
Struggling to hold on
Racing to catch up.
Slipping in and out of shadow
Breaking new ground
Never reaching the beginning
Defining the source
The distance between
Us growing wider
The whispers more indistinct
The closer we get to the ocean.
A sweep of grandeur
An accumulation of wisdom
Untold
Dissipated
Without rancour
And little fanfare
Absorbed into the majesty
From first to last
Beginning to end
As it was meant to be.
