Where shadows play

Tearing at the edges

Until the pages turn

Flipping over

As words bleed

Through cracks

On the pavement

Running down

Into the gutter

Washed away in the fallout

Of a restless spirit

If I thought

You were out there

Waiting for me

Under the gathering stars

There would be no games

To play

Everything under the sun

Would burn

There are flames

Dancing in moonlight

Connecting

To the Celestial

Burning a hole

In my heart

With the beauty

Of the display

Intersecting

And dissecting me

What will it take

To pick up the pieces

So they can be returned

To a place

Where they belong.
