The sky is an ocean
naturemusicpolitics
The sky is an ocean
Watch me flounder
Drowning in plain sight
Throw a lifeline
From the shadows
Where sunlight
Trickles through a canopy
Of rain clouds
Ominous rollers
Ready to break
As they fall
The elemental sound
Of thunder
Filling the air
With an echo
Of spent power
In the aftermath
Raindrops spatter
Down
Radiating out
From an unspecified
Epicentre
Dispersing into steam
As a broiling sun
Burns right through
To the ocean floor
And I am engulfed
By an invisible flow
Of sky light
A gravitational wave
Bent out of shape
By the weight
Of its own indifference.
