Stay with me
losspoliticsmemoryidentity
Stay with me
When all is said
I’m as lost as a madman
On tenterhooks
Waiting for the axe to fall.
The possum is motionless
On the wire
He forgot which way to go
I saw him blink
Once
Twice
There was nothing to stop
His progress
Other than his opinion of me.
I’m as lost as he is.
I need you.
It is true to say
The weight of lies
To the contrary
Drag me under
I’m as low as I can go.
I need you
To want me
As I want you
The truth of that
Is never lost on me
Even though
I am as lost
As the possum
And never
Make a move
To press forward
When I’m being watched.
