An etched pen-and-ink illustration with a blue accent, evoking "There is so much good".

There is so much good

lossnaturemortalitysolitude

There is so much good

In people

How does it get lost

In the crowd

When the rabble shout

And the soft voice

Is silenced

By the loudest.

How strong does

A moderate man

Need to be

When the sound

Of intolerance drowns out

All but the cheer leaders

Scream.

What can be done

When at night

The same man who

Tends to your needs,

Helps with your bags

Fixes your car

Writes a prescription

Checks your eyes,

Bakes your pies,

Rents your house

Shares a table

As you eat your lunch

Sheds his thin skin

Of humanity

And runs with the wolves.

It takes a lot of poison

To kill all the fish

In the sea

But just a few drops

In a cup

Will murder me.

There is so much good

In the world

Why waste it

When it is so close

You can taste it.

Let it grow,

Free,

Then give it back

To those who

Most need it.

I promise,

You will never,

Ever

Regret it.

Not for one moment.
