There will be undoing
naturemusicpoliticsmemorytimelove
There will be undoing
No matter the consequence
Age unravels with time
Whatever we do.
Even as Skylarks sing
High in the sky
Hovering over the countryside
Announcing a claim on beauty
There will be other suitors.
It is the nature of things
For progress
To rest on the goodwill
Of other pilgrims.
Evergreens,
Shimmering Aspen,
Orchids and Columbine
To remain grounded.
The notion no more fanciful
Than peace on earth.
All is as it should be
Time passages close
The drip-feed of ages past
Rests
For the eternity of a heartbeat.
The hands of a clock
Flip-flop silently between
One second and the next.
The Skylark,
Frozen in mid-song
Suddenly skips a note
As the world catches up
With itself.
And at its own pace
Everything continues
To move forward
In time, together.
